UNDISCOVERED GEM: Big Girl Now by New Kids On The Block & Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga remains unstoppable as her upcoming single, Applause, from her upcoming album ARTPOP is on its way.

Unknown to many (specifically non-avid fans of Gaga), she once appeared on a New Kids on the Block track, titled “Big Girl Now”.

Back in 2008, when RedOne introduced Gaga as a new artist, she served as a demo singer. She sang the female part on "Big Girl / Big Boy" which was the demo name, and they loved her so much, they kept her vocals. Their collaboration continued with "Full Service", which Gaga played as a co-writer for that song on. Gaga later join the band again on the New Kids on the Block: Live tour.

Too bad the song didn’t do well, when it sounded hit-worthy.

UNDISCOVERED GEM: Like A Robot by AQUA

There’s no denying that I adore Pop music. From bubblegum pop to pop rock, anything that’s catchy enough gets into my taste. These past few weeks, I have been searching the web for some late 90’s Pop Hits when I came across Aqua’s classic “Turn Back Time”.

I was way young when “Barbie Girl” became their smash hit along with “Dr. Jones”, and “Mr. Candyman”. I was wondering where they were and googled them out.

I found out that their last album release was 2011, an album titled “Megalomania” with “How R Doin?” as the carrier single. Although it didn’t do well, their plan to release a follow-up/international single titled “Like A Robot” was set but soon scraped.

Upon hearing the track, it could’ve been a potential hit, with the beats and rhythm that can match David Guetta’s or any other pop stars these days. Yeah it’s sad that this song wasn’t released but I effin’ love this track’s hook and its catchy chorus!

UNDISCOVERED GEM: BOSSY by Lindsay Lohan

So, I was scanning some pages in Wikipedia when I found myself browsing Lindsay Lohan’s profile page. She was, and still is, one of my favorite Disney stars. Yeah, Lohan maybe out of the spotlight due to her endless controversies but I’m still having my hopes up that I would see the same old Lindsay Lohan that I love.

I then checked her discography, and found this track, titled “Bossy” which was like her last single ever. I searched for the song, and yes, I loved it!

Released in 2008, “Bossy” became Lindsay Lohan’s first track throughout her singing career, that hit #1 on Billboard US Hot Dance Club Play. Written and Produced by Ne-Yo, the song features Lohan’s raspy yet sexy voice that suits well with the song’s vibe and rhythm.

“Bossy”, an upbeat dance pop track, was way different from her previous singles, which sounded like a mix of Pop and Rock, like what Miley Cyrus, and Demi Lovato used to have. It would’ve been better if she get back to her shoes, fix all the flaws, and make a glorious comeback through music.
