It’s
another round of “Who Sang It Better”
and today it’s a track titled “Tik Tik Boom” originally by the
so-called new Pussycat Dolls, G.R.L, against the version of Britney Spears from her latest album, Britney
Jean.

your mind with all the negative vibes around you.

your eyes and listen to every lyric

Yep, Britney’s
album Britney Jean is slowly leaking.
After Alien leaked (which is a 5 STAR
track for me), the Dreaming Mix of her latest single, Perfume, made its way to
the pirate music sites.
Far better than the
original, Perfume (The Dreaming Mix) features a slowed background putting
emphasis on Britney’s chilling voice with guitar strings and piano.
For me, this should’ve
been the official single, and would’ve done better in the charts. The slowed
mix brings out the emotion of the song more than the original one.
Regarding with the
ongoing leaks, RCA or whoever is in charge, should do something or else, album
sales will surely suffer.
Check out Perfume (The Dreaming Mix) below and
tell us if you think it’s better than the original.

So
I got this Britney Spears track, which is said to be from her upcoming album, “Britney
Jean”. First few lines, yeah it sounds like her, but later on, it may not sound
like Britney. Maybe her vocals improved this time? You be the judge. Is this Britney
or not?

After
a few short weeks of having no laptop (and proper internet connection) to write
on, it definitely feels good to be back. While I was away (off the online world),
tons of new songs and albums came out, and I only got a few of them on hand, like,
Katy Perry’s new single, Unconditionally,
which is really beautiful and Avril Lavigne’s incredible new track, Let Me Go, with Chad Kroeger, and other
new tracks as well.
It
seems like there’s an ongoing battle of
ballads as the year’s about to end. As mentioned, Perry’s Unconditionally comes face-to-face with
Avril Lavigne’s Let Me Go, plus the
ongoing power of Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking
Ball, and Britney’s upcoming ballad, Perfume.
Of course, the veterans in music will never say die as Cher, also releases her
second single which is a ballad. And surprisingly, it is a cover of a Miley
Cyrus song!
Following
the release of Woman’s World, “I
Hope You Find It” is Cher’s
follow-up from her new album “Closer To
The Truth”. It is originally sung by Miley
Cyrus for her 2010 romantic drama film “The
Last Song” with her then-beau Liam Hemsworth. It is indeed unlikely to hear
Cher singing a cover of a young pop-star but will she do justice to the said
track? Let’s check it out:
Miley Cyrus - I Hope You Find It
CHER - I Hope You Find It
VOCAL PROWESS
You
all must be thinking I’m nuts for comparing the vocals of these two
songstresses. I’m gonna say I will push this through and will compare the vocal styling of Cyrus and Cher ON THIS TRACK.
Miley
Cyrus’ vocal ability is indeed good (thanks to Hannah Montana experiences). In this track, she clearly has a
signature gist of a teen-slash-country tone which is far different from Taylor
Swift’s or even Shania Twain’s but still leaving that certain Hannah Montana mark.
Cher’s
iconic vocal pitch is pure EPIC on this track. It’s like there’s
a strong vocal foundation of her voice to this song which makes it work for
her.
DELIVERY
It
may seem unfair to compare this track to Wrecking
Ball, but Cyrus’ delivery on this track sounds like there’s less heart in
it. Both songs (I Hope You Find It
and Wrecking Ball) are all about
heartaches, but I felt a strong connection of Miley and Wrecking Ball rather than with I
Hope You Find It.
If
you get to listen closely to Cher’s You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me
(from Burlesque, another ballad) she sang it in a different mood, giving you a
different vibe of the song which you can really connect to. There were less “Ooh”s
and “Baby” compared to Cyrus, of which I think was really good, for me to
connect well to the track.
CONNECTION
I
felt a strong bond of Cher’s vocals to this track rather than with Miley’s. Listening to it with Miley’s voice sounds like
a regular ballad, a reminiscent of When I Look At You (which she sang
oh-so-beautifully).
However,
with Cher’s, I felt connected to the song even though I am not heartbroken or
having love problems at all. I can feel the pain as what the host implies, and
I can say that it made the song very emotional.
So
who sang “I Hope You Like It” better? My heart says CHER.
What
do you think? Who sang it better?

Amidst the media’s
attention with Britney Spears’ latest single, Katy Perry’s ain’t givin’ up the spotlight as her new single, Dark
Horse is already available.
Dark
Horse features rapper, Juicy J, and is listed as the 6th track off of Perry’s new
album, PRISM.
The 3 minute and 35
second track exhibits a slow jam, still on its darker feel than any songs from
her Teenage Dream album.
Is it pop catchy? A
bit.
Is it good? Not
much on its first listen, but it is a grower.
For me, Dark Horse rates 3.5 out of 5.

The most anticipated
single of the year is finally here. Britney
Spears’ is back for a brand new era as her new single “Work Bitch” has been
released. This is the first track from her upcoming 8th album, which
is yet to be titled.
Produced by will.i.am, and co-written by Spears
herself, “Work Bitch” is a self-proclaimed
club-banger hit. With every thump of the beat, it is undeniably something to
groove on.
Undeniably a game
changer in today’s EDM filled music charts, the new track features non-generic club
bangin’ beats minus a signature catchy hook like what we usually hear whenever Britney’s
releasing a new material or even any EDM-Pop track there is.
"Work Bitch" literally makes the whole Femme Fatale album, a mediocre and generic EDM-Pop album.
"Work Bitch" literally makes the whole Femme Fatale album, a mediocre and generic EDM-Pop album.
The single features
Spears’ vocals, without the help of auto-tune, and even other background vocalists.
It’s just pure Britney, working out.
Also, a British
accent which she loves to play is heavily audible throughout the song.
Now, did will.i.am
do a great job? I can say, yes.
Do I like it? Yes!
Do I love it? Not
really.
Although for me, it’s a 3.7 out of 5.
Britney fans, however, seems to love it!

So, I guess you already know by now that Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors bagged the
major award in this year’s VMA’s. Well,
honestly, I’m not really a fan of the song, HOWEVER, a fantastic cover might
change me.
And someone did! Ellie Goulding covered JT’s smash, Mirrors, and I think it’s
really AWESOME! Far better than Boyce
Avenue & 5th Harmony’s
cover.

Applauding out loud, Lady Gaga returns with Applause, the carrier single for her
upcoming album, ARTPOP.
The addictive hook (enter Gaga chanting “I live
for the applause, applause, applause”) further transcends to an ultimate danceable
chorus.
It’s no Pokerface
or Bad Romance, but it’s still freakin’ good!

Lady Gaga remains unstoppable as her upcoming single, Applause, from her upcoming album ARTPOP
is on its way.
Unknown to many
(specifically non-avid fans of Gaga), she once appeared on a New Kids on the Block track, titled “Big
Girl Now”.
Back in 2008, when RedOne
introduced Gaga as a new artist, she served as a demo singer. She sang the
female part on "Big Girl / Big Boy"
which was the demo name, and they loved her so much, they kept her vocals.
Their collaboration continued with "Full
Service", which Gaga played as a co-writer for that song on. Gaga later
join the band again on the New Kids on the Block: Live tour.
Too
bad the song didn’t do well, when it sounded hit-worthy.

Katy Perry is back with her new single, ROAR!
This
track is definitely no “Teenage Dream”. This is
the carrier single for her upcoming album, PRISM.
As
she what she said in the earlier promos of her new single, the upcoming era
will be darker, beating the sweet, tacky and tasty pop era that has with “Teenage Dream”. However, ROAR is not as dark as it seems…yet.
ROAR begins with an ethnic-like
drum beats, and with the chorus that starts with the songstress singing:
I got the eye of the tiger.
As
it transcends to a line:
I am a Champion and you’re
gonna hear me ROAR.
Similar
to Fireworks, ROAR is another
self-empowering track that leaves a good kick in ones ego.
A
good pop track is usually very catchy. Roar scores 3.5 out of 5 when it comes
to its “catchiness”

Little
Monsters raises their paws up as a new Lady
Gaga track surfaces the web. The rough demo allegedly titled “Burqa”
leaks and is undeniably from Gaga’s upcoming album, “ARTPOP”.
Burqa refers toa face-veil portion is usually a rectangular piece of
semi-transparent cloth whose top side is sewn to corresponding portion of the
head-scarf, so that the veil hangs down loose from the scarf, and it can be
turned up if the woman wishes to reveal her face (otherwise the whole face would be covered).
The
reference started in a catchy chorus as Gaga sings:
“Do you wanna see me naked,
lover?
Do you wanna peak underneath
the cover?
Do you wanna see the girl who lives behind the aura?
Do you wanna see the girl who lives behind the aura?
It
sounded weird at first but the catchy hook changed the “aura” of the track.
The guitar
hook at the start which further transcends to the modern mix of techno beats is
really something new, which may be the trend of her upcoming “ARTPOP” Era.
The
song is indeed far different from the vibe of “Born This Way” and “The Fame” Eras.
Here’s
how I rate the song:
Yup! It's a 5 STAR for me.
Go
check out “Burqa”, and tell us what
ya think!

The astounding
songstress, Ellie Goulding is back with a new single, “Burn” from her upcoming
repackaged album, “Halcyon Days”.
Unknown to many,
the track was originally for Leona Lewis for her album “Glassheart” but was not
included on the final track listing.
While Goulding’s
version is filled with synths and matching vocals, Lewis’ version was more like
Indie-Pop.
But who sang “Burn”
better?

tracks below:

In
a world like this, album leaks are now common. And the Backstreet Boys are in
no exception with that. Their latest album, “In A World Like This” leaks, just
days before the official US release.
The
album consists of 13 new tracks, which is slated to be released on July 30th,
contains their usual mix of taste of Pop, Ballad, and Dance.
“Permanent
Stains” is the album’s carrier single, while “In A World Like This” serves as
the follow-up.

The
full content of Selena Gomez’ new album, STARS DANCE,
surfaces the web a week before the official release.
As
expected, her latest offering is indeed a dance album since it was said to be
heavily influenced by Britney Spears and Skrillex.
“Forget Forever”, once named as “RuleThe World”, has already leaked online prior to the initial release of
the album’s carrier single, “Come &
Get It”.
“Save The Day” was initially for Rihanna
but decided to scrape it out of her “Unapologetic”
album. JLo was rumored of wanting to record the track but failed to get it
from Gomez.
The
following is my track-to-track ratings of the album’s contents.

Smell the scent of Revenge... literally! “Double
Infinity” is a fragrance line inspired from the hit TV show in ABC, “Revenge”, and this is probably the
first time I heard that a show comes with a bottled perfume as one of its
collectible merchandises.
The symbol and name of "Double Infinity" is based and heavily visible on the said TV series, as it was the main character, Amanda Clark (Emily Vancamp), and her father's symbol for their love.
Although I am not positive of the availability of the said perfume in the Philippines but it was already released last June 3rd through
Kohl’s in US.
I’m no Perfume
Critic, but I'm not quite sure with the bottle of it as I scan them through Kohl’s website, it doesn’t
look that attractive to me. The color of the bottle may match to the show’s
color and theme but the bottle design is completely bland to me.
But for sure, “Double
Infinity” is on my list of the perfumes I want to try.
This women's Revenge Double
Infinity flirty citrus scent combines with jasmine and pink pepper for a
mysterious scent that will linger throughout the day. Nobody can resist the
scent of Revenge!
- Perfume offers defined aromas of mint,
lemon, orange, grapefruit, aquatic accord, jasmine sambac, peony, pink
pepper, apple, cedar, labdanum, agave, amber and musk.

It’s
another Throwback Thursday! As the
social media feed’s being flooded with glimpses of yesterday, I’m gonna join
the bandwagon as I post my #ThrowbackThursday (forgive me for
placing a hashtag).
This
orchestral rock that I’m gonna share was released in 1999, as a theme for a James Bond film. Sung by Garbage, “The World Is Not Enough” tells
about taking over the world lyrically, and as depicted also in the music video.
I
remember I used to scare my 8-year-old sister that those scenes in the said
music video would happen in the future. As a result, she is still scared of
that track, even until now, whenever I play it randomly. Talk about childhood
trauma, huh?
Anyways,
relive the memories of 007: The World Is Not Enough
with the film’s theme track by Garbage.

It
is indeed a battle of tracks from these former-Disney Stars. Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez released their new singles on the same day. Miley Cyrus’ slow-tempo track “We
Can’t Stop” faces Selena Gomez’ with “Slow Down”, follow-up of her
smash hit “Come & Get It”.
Released
on the same day, June 4th, “We
Can’t Stop” is Miley Cyrus’ comeback track for her yet-untitled album while
Selena Gomez’ “Slow Down”, produced
by The Cataracts, is from her
upcoming album, Stars Dance.
Honestly,
Miley’s track was a letdown for me. I was expecting a catchy and addictive
hook, something that this song does not have. However, “We Can’t Stop” is a
total grower song. At first I didn’t like it, but I found myself humming to the
track’s melody out of nowhere.
The
case is different with Selena’s “Slow
Down”. I absolutely LOVED it, the first time I heard. It’s a type of track
that may have Britney a run of her money. But the catch of it, I tend to forget
the song’s melody and even the lyrics!
In
a Hashtag
Battle on Twitter, the
numbers are in favor for Cyrus’ “We Can’t
Stop”, beating Gomez’ “Slow Down” for the month of June up to this writing.
But
in the end, it all comes down to the listeners. Which former Disney Superstar got
a better track?
