The most anticipated single of the year is finally here. Britney Spears’ is back for a brand new era as her new single “Work Bitch” has been released. This is the first track from her upcoming 8^th album, which is yet to be titled.

Produced by will.i.am, and co-written by Spears herself, “Work Bitch” is a self-proclaimed club-banger hit. With every thump of the beat, it is undeniably something to groove on.

Undeniably a game changer in today’s EDM filled music charts, the new track features non-generic club bangin’ beats minus a signature catchy hook like what we usually hear whenever Britney’s releasing a new material or even any EDM-Pop track there is.

"Work Bitch" literally makes the whole Femme Fatale album, a mediocre and generic EDM-Pop album.

The single features Spears’ vocals, without the help of auto-tune, and even other background vocalists. It’s just pure Britney, working out.

Also, a British accent which she loves to play is heavily audible throughout the song.

Now, did will.i.am do a great job? I can say, yes.

Do I like it? Yes!

Do I love it? Not really.

Although for me, it’s a 3.7 out of 5.

Britney fans, however, seems to love it!

Biting One Direction’s “Kiss You” Music Video

These hot hot British boys are back to make us swoon. After countless teasers (which reminds me a lot of Britney Spears’s countless teasers before the video premiere of ‘Hold It Against Me’ last 2011), the official video for their new single “Kiss You” has been released.

Vaughan Arnell returns to the Director’s Seat for the third time for the band’s third single from their second album, “Take Me Home”. This uptempo, up-beat dance pop track was written by Kristoffer Fogelmark, Kristian Lundin, Albin Nedler, Rami Yacoub, Savan Kotecha and Carl Falk and produced by Yacoub and Falk, who produced the 1D smash hits, “What Makes You Beautiful”, “One Thing”, and “Live While Were Young”.

The video features the boys, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson, on a video shoot with these sequences: riding a motorcycle and a car, in a jail, surfing, skiing, and all sorts of craziness. Although I was hoping for a music video that would coincide with the song’s lyrics, but it turns out that it’s not.

It’s a fun video to watch, to be honest. They have retained their taste in music videos, which is purely having fun, and that’s just basically it. This time around, I find their formula too common now since their music videos were all about having fun, without really connecting with the song’s lyrics. Comparing it to “What Makes You Beautiful”, “One Thing”, “Live While We’re Young”, and this new video of theirs, I find it mostly the same. I would still love to see the band in a uniquely made music video. Song wise, it’s a pretty cool pop track that I would love to play while driving, or strolling at the mall.

HitBack: ONE FOR SORROW (Savoring the Musical Taste of STEPS)

1990s

So, I was exploring some YouTube videos (I was stuck in The Ellen DeGeneres channel for hours) when a familiar tune just got inside my head. I could rarely hear that song being played on the radio but the said tune got inside my head all of a sudden.

It was a track from STEPS, titled “One for Sorrow”. I could hardly remember the last time I heard that song, so, hearing it again made a lot of childhood memory flashbacks, dramatically. I used to remember singing and dancing along while watching the video on MTV (back when MTV was “really” MTV), only to find out that the lyrics were really deep and emotional, despite of the upbeat tempo and the fact that it’s a danceable track. I was so innocent back then (of course, we’ve been innocent once), and I had no idea that they’re singing about pangs of heartbreaks.

The chorus of the song goes like:

“Now I know you’re someone else right now,

Loving someone else no doubt.

Well, I’m One For Sorrow

Ain’t it too, too bad.

Are you breaking someone else’s heart

Coz you’re taking my love where you are.

Well, I’m One For Sorrow

Ain’t it too, too bad about us?”

Funny how these words described exactly how I felt once, few years back.

Written by Mark Topham, Karl Twigg, and Lance Ellington, Claire (the female lead vocal of STEPS) performs lead vocals of all of the verses, before the entire band join for the chorus. Check out the video below and taste the sweet pop tunes of STEPS, once again.
